Just the beginning
Today's the first day of my blog. Last night I lovingly prepared a Chocolate cola cake for Jo's birthday today. It's one of the best chocolate cake recipes I've found and I return to it time and again. She will love it. It contains cola in the cake recipe melted with a block of butter as well as 3 tablespoons in the icing with butter and cocoa. Delicious. It's being transported on the back of my bike to be delivered for morning tea today.

And I can honestly say that the Cola cake was amazing - woop woop
ReplyDeleteThis Cola Cake is absolutely the best Office Birthday cake EVER, and since I've been eating them for 11 years that's something else!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds amazing. How much cola do you put in with the melted butter? x
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty special and moist cake. Bridget's unborn baby kicked and did a twirl both times she ate the choc-cola cake yesterday. A true seal of approval. You melt 200ml of cola with 250g block of butter over a low heat. You would need to remove a similar-ish amount of milk or other liquid from a standrad recipe. melt them over a low heat. the icing also contains 3 tablespoons with cocoa and icing sugar. Nigella does one but mine is an adaptation of James Martin's - who'se also delicious.
