The best thing about baking a cake

Is licking the bowl. Here are the remnants of a chocolate whoopie pie cake I made for Ali's birthday. I always leave a bit extra in the bowl for Karl and I to share. There's something so very confirmting about it and it reminds me of my childhood, standing by the counter waiting for Eely to finish baking so I could lick the bowl.
